PRIVACY

Privacy and browser storage

Updated 20 October 2026. Here is how Oddplay uses data when you visit.

Saved games

When you save a game, Oddplay keeps its identifier in your browser’s local storage. Your list stays in the same browser on this device. It does not use an account or sync between devices.

You can remove games on the Saved page, or clear this site’s data through your browser settings. If storage is unavailable, saves may last only for the current visit. If stored data cannot be read, Oddplay keeps the original data and lets you download it or reset the list.

Suggestions stay in this browser

The suggestion form saves what you enter and the time you save it in this browser. It does not upload the suggestion or send it to an editor. You can delete your notes or export them to a JSON file. If the browser cannot save an entry, you can still download what you entered.

The form does not ask for an email address. Avoid adding private information to a suggestion, especially if you plan to share the exported file.

Page requests and external links

Your browser makes network requests to load this site. The hosting provider processes those requests to serve the pages. Some screenshots load from itch.io’s image service; those requests go to the external host. Cached covers are served with this site.

Play and creator links open an external page in a new tab. The external site handles the game, its own storage, accounts, payments and privacy practices. Saving a directory link does not change the game’s own records.

Analytics

Oddplay uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and how they find the site. When you load a page, the Google tag can send information about that visit, including the page address and your browser and device, to Google.

Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits and returning browsers. Your browser settings let you block or clear cookies. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and its explanation of Analytics cookies for more detail.

Advertising

Some pages include Adsterra advertising placements. When an ad loads, your browser contacts the advertising provider and can send information about your browser and visit.

Adsterra’s Privacy Policy explains how its advertising services handle information.

Questions about a particular game

Use the creator link on the game’s detail page for the creator’s own support or privacy information. Our About page explains the directory’s scope and the local suggestion tool.
